Catfishing and Chasing Rods
« on: September 24, 2017, 12:02:01 PM »
Been a while since I've got to fish for cats but back at it.  My son and I found a new hole a couple of weeks ago and we caught 7 cats between 24-28" his biggest was 9 lbs.  Well I hit it last night myself for about 3 hours since he was working. This time it was non stop action but was getting smaller cats 5 around 18".  Could barely sit and finish my beer  ;D.  Then landed a nice 24" cat reset the rod and about a minute after hitting the water had another hit.  Just as I was landing the cat my other rod took off  :o actually had to run out in the river to get my rod back.  Smaller cat was 25" and the bigger one was 29" and 10 lbs a real solid fish.

Great job Beernut!!!!!!
Man,Your lucky to find a filled hole this time of the year.
Were you using livebait,or dead bait????,
Sometimes you need to take a break and suck down a beer or 2 then get back into the action ;)
Thanks for the Pics.

Thanks guys...funny thing is we only found this spot because someone was fishing the hole we usually go to.  Chez I was using expired boneless chicken breast cut up in chunks they love it.
