Fell Off My Boat
« on: June 07, 2018, 10:38:47 PM »
Fell off my boat... unfortunately it was not in the water. lol. Got scraped up pretty good but the worst part was my left leg got hung up on the way to ground and I could feel it nearly pop the knee, so close. Very sore and limping around but I think I may have just missed a summer ending accident.

Ouch, glad you're not hurt too bad.  It's good you were not on the water, dangling off the side of the boat.

LOL Did the same thing at the Bloomsburg launch, missed the step on the boat fender trying to get down. Some lady asked me if I was okay, after laughing for five minutes, I told her I always like to roll in this goose poop cause it brings me good luck!

Congratulations on not missing the summer. :)  "You have to be more careful sir.  When we rush that's when accidents happen."

I'm missing this beautiful weekend and that hurts more than my knee. I won't know anything until I see the orthopedic on Tuesday. Until then I'm eating, drinking and gaining weight.

Took a header of of my boat a few years back going back to the launch at the end of the day. We had stopped to try one last spot I bent over to put my rod down and stepped on the T/M pedal. Which was on "5" causing me to lose balance and over the side I went. 10 seconds of panic till I surfaced  then I realized I lost a rod over the side but that the crankbait was stuck in my leg(more panic).  Got to shore figuring a trip to the hospital was in my future. Got all packed up and took a closer look at my leg and saw that the hook point that was buried in my leg was the one I had smashed the bard down on earlier to get it unstuck from a jacket.... came right out with ease LOL.

Long ways to the ground especially if the boat was on the trailer. Far enough to be able to think about how bad it is going to hurt before you hit the ground.

Saw the Doc Tuesday and got the go ahead to resume my life. Taking it easy while the ligament heals up but doing pretty well and glad to have escaped the worst outcome. getting on and off my boat with a greater degree of care than before that's for sure.

Maybe a short ski ladder or a pool ladder. I've considered that. I used to carry a short step ladder when I had worse knee problems.
