Threaded the Needle
« on: May 16, 2018, 04:21:32 PM »
I threaded the needle yesterday between work and the sour weather patterns I have to use the good days to fish, then I pay for it the next by working in the rain. Yesterday my target was carp. Another fish that, like shad, I love catching but never seem to find the time to go after. I have a spot that they collect in this time of year dependably, they are suckers for a big hook gobbed with two night crawlers. The goal being to completely cove the hook. It was not long before I had my first fish a channel cat then another. I finally landed a small carp, my smallest ever. It was soon followed by its twin and a decent smallie. I had decided to quit at noon it was stifling hot and the insects were having a feast on my flesh. as I was picking up my rods I caught the nice smallie pictured. Great time almost seemed like spring for a few hours. Got home in time to batten down the hatches and watch the storm come screaming into my yard.
