My rain gauge had 4 inches of rain over 12 hours.  :o
Why can't we just have a nice gentle rain?  >:(

Lakes / Camping issues at Raystown
« Last post by Phil Sweeney on September 22, 2021, 04:35:11 PM »
Only allowed 14 days at seven points each month. With the senior pass itís only $15 a day non-water site. I top off every day so staying at waterside site not important to me.  Spring this year I stayed at seven points in April and May 14 days each. I also stayed quite a few days in trough Creek State Park.  Trough Creek is a little rough no showers . Sometime in October thereís no reasonable camping because everything closes down.
Even at 66 and still healthy enough to bend down and camp on the ground. Little space heater in the tent made a world of difference.
Pulled the trigger and bought this RV at a local site.

Problem solved!

No just bass. Just luck in to one every now and again! Also lost a nice one on a whoper plopper. I am liking the water color too!

Phil nice walleye! Is that what your fishing for?
It has been nice having water this year. Looks like we're getting a decent amount of rain Wednesday and Thursday. To bring the levels up some.

Susquehanna River Smallmouth Bass / Marietta sundown bite

I have been going out nightly at Marietta 2.5 hours for the sundown bite. Last year this time the water was low so getting out right now is easy. Fish size is getting better. Also got this last night. He came at it and I got it on the second cast!

Tackle Talk / Re: Spare spinning reel

I think Roland Martin is one smart dude! And a cheerful old guy to boot! BTW the line shredding is caused (I think) by a chip in the ceramic of the tip top. It was not the reel! so now I have a spare i do not like.

I do have one friend who is a big fan of back reeling. Check out this video on line twist from drag
https://youtu.be/kZkp3Rpricg
I get more line twist from certain swim baits than anything else. Yesterday I had a crazy amount of line twist and the line was put on the day before. Using a spark shad

Thanks for the link.  That was very informative and proved again that a septuagenarian can learn something about spin fishing.
