Columbia Adventure 9/19/2017

Harry and me went down to Columbia yesterday for the first time.  I backed the boat in at 7 AM and my 5 month old battery wouldn't crank the motor.  I pulled the boat back to the parking lot dropped the trailer and charged the battery with the truck.  Meanwhile Harry fished from the dock and had a strike but missed it.  I finally got the battery charged to where it would crank and finally got the boat in and fired up.  Ran across the river and back to get the battery fully charged then motored up to the riffs at the 30 bridge and finally started to fish at 9.  We threw everything we had at them without a strike so I drifted out of there and we fished a couple hundred yards downstream.  About 11, I tied on a black hairball and had a strike on the first cast.  It was a nice 14 inch, 2.14 lbs.  Three casts later I had another one on and it turned out to be an 18 inch that pulled the scale to 3.12 lbs.  Harry started throwing a brown hairball that was already rigged on a rod and in a couple of casts he landed a 17 inch.  A boat about 100 yards from us landed one also and that was it.  The frenzy was over in 10 minutes.  Harry caught a 15 1/2 inch walleye about 30 minutes later and we never had another strike.  Packed it in at 2 PM

The pic is the 14 inch.  We took pics of the other two but the camera ate them.  They're not on the card??

Now I Have to figure out why I had a dead starting battery.

The older I get, the better I used to be.
