Digital scales
« on: December 16, 2021, 09:44:12 PM »
I seldom measure the length of a fish anymore. I weigh the fish. I have used a Rapala 25 lb. Digital Scale for years.

I like to use the "tare" function but when the scale turns off automatically I have to keep resetting the tare function again and again.

If you weigh fish.....

What kind of scale do you use? Does it have a tare function and once you set the tare weight does it remain set or do you have to reset it every time you weigh a fish?

Thanks

Bill

Bill, I also have a Rapala digital scale that is about 15 years old.  It doesn’t get used much as I find it to be easier to measure.  Usually the only time that I weigh is if I have a very large one.

I have never used the tare function.  Since I am not tournament fishing the weight of the hook on the scale doesn’t matter to me.  If you are worried about the clip you have on your scale just figure out how much it weighs and mentally substract it.

I think I may have found one that zeroes itself every time you turn it on with the holding clamp attached.

50 pound scale, huh?  You switching to musky hunting?   ;)

Anyway, you may want to read the reviews:
