Do you mean a recent change or the change since they put the new cooling towers in some years ago?
The canal has been fenced off for years.
Canít enter by foot or by boat.
The last time I was down you could still park and fish along the road
But that was 2-3 years ago

Yes all of bruner island is closed to fishing now.  York Haven catwalk is open, it is not part of the same company.  When you drive down to bruner island all the roads are blocked.

What about the "gut" road is that still open down to "Bainbridge" think that's the little town it came back out in. Guess I'd have to drive around the island or come upriver from Bainbridge

I was last over in the late 90's early 00's. You could drive up + around the "canal" back then, but I prefered down off of the "gut" road more rocks + ledges down there and still warm.  They got in trouble for releasing too hot of water  - killed a bunch of fish.  After that they had to "cool" the water down and it wasn't quite the "hotspot" it was.

Was thinking about down there for walleye over the winter... never killed them but did get enough for a meal a couple of times.

I was there for the first time this winter.  I think you could park along gut rd south of the island and access the river.  Gut rd leads into saginaw.  I didn't try to fish any of that area but i don't there there were any signs saying to parking like on the island.

Bainbridge is, I believe, almost across from the brunner area. It would be the east side of the river though
