Year end
« on: December 31, 2017, 02:00:24 PM »
For those of us who don't ice fish...enjoy some ice pictures.

The north end of the Isle of Que (where I fish)

The middle of the Que with the scout camp on the east side.

Boat access on the Que.

My favorite spot on the Que.

Penn's Creek totally iced over at Selinsgrove.

This is the first year in many that the borough of Selinsgrove has had it's public outdoor ice rink open.

I'm ready for March 21, 2018   :)

Here a small sample of the fish that Suskyfishers member Mike Brown and I caught yesterday on the frozen susky. All pictured were released. Mike did the catching and I did the cursing I struggled to land 3 undersized walleye while Mike landed close to 20 of various species.
Happy New Year the winter won't last forever. Hopefully it makes it to the end of March this year!

Great pictures both of you. I enjoyed both sides of the figurative coin. I looked at the weather for the Harrisburg weather this morning. There seems to be a slight thaw coming in about a week. But hopefully there is a distinct line above Selinsgrove of hard winter weather for our ice fishing brethren. Then 45 degrees and slightly stained water for Mr Dry. Happy new years all

If you all take a look at the river today you may see some of my ice flowing past on its way to the Chesapeake. Looks like we got a shot at another round once the water recedes.
Cheers

Looks like you may have a while before the ice up here makes its way down toward you all. It got jammed then with the near zero temps since Saturday it has frozen up tight as whatever. here's a few pics from West Pittston this morning about 13 feet to the level I was standing, otherwise known as the street.

On my way into work I noticed the river was bank to bank ice, from east to west shores of Harrisburg. Now tonight, when I came back over the river. It freed up from the train bridge just south of city island. But city island was still iced in. Doubt your ice will make Harrisburg any time soon. come on march 21!
