Title: First Susky trip of 2018
Post by: shiver318 on March 12, 2018, 01:35:29 PM
Three weeks without fishing was enough, so took the boat to the Susky for good run yesterday morn. Sure was a cold start but landed some nice eyes with a couple of fat smallies thrown in. A great first trip of 2018!(https://i.imgur.com/XJTMOs5.jpg)(https://i.imgur.com/eorzst3.jpg)(https://i.imgur.com/KTK10Bw.jpg)

Nothing better than cold water fishing...

but you've got to be one cold blooded creature to take a boat out in sub-40 degree temperatures.  ;)  :)

I'll stick to wading the shoreline until things warm up.

I kept telling my nephew if we were ice fishing this would be a warm day! Got to admit at 24 degrees and flying up the river was the first time I got a brain freeze without eating ice cream. Skeeters and gnats weren't bad though!

BRRR no thanks.  Last Dec I wanted a test ride in my boat before I bought it in weather like that.  My eyes were watering so bad I couldn't see anything and I actually put my finger on my prosthetic eye because I was afraid I was going to loose it.

Good for you getting your boat out. I'm jealous. Mine is still snow bound in the back yard with some repairs and upgrades to go before I can launch it. Everytime I clear off all the snow and think about pulling back the cover to get to work on it, it snows again. This is getting old.
