Title: Another Nor'easter
Post by: DRY on March 12, 2018, 05:41:27 PM
When I left the house after lunch the air temp was 37F and partly cloudy. Water temp was 37F by my thermometer (finally took it with).

Soon after I got to the river the snow squalls started and they kept up all afternoon. Air temps fell to 33F but the water temp was 38F when I left.

River levels have fallen significantly where I fish and many of the shoreline eddies are gone. The water remains cold and fishing out in the current just doesn't produce any fish for me.

But...I found enough quiet water to bring 14 smallmouth to hand (they like the snow you know). No giants...but two fish between 3  and 3.5 pounds made the day.

All were caught on the Willie Wanabee (1/8 oz jighead and size 1 hook).
