Title: My Last Hurrah!!
Post by: DRY on June 26, 2018, 12:39:51 PM
Water has been high on my local trib and along with family affairs...haven't been out much. Did drive past the Susquehanna last Saturday and every boat ramp was jammed with trailers.

The local trib has now dropped to wading depth so I figured I'd give it one last wade. It was a cool 57F on the porch as I consumed eggs and bacon for breakfast with no wind and partly sunny skies. Just one beautiful day.

When I got there, flies were coming off the water but I didn't see any fish activity on the flies but along the shoreline there was a splashing and a going on. After a while I realized these were something other than smallmouth...probably suckers or small carp.

The big smallmouth are "in absentia" where I wade...caught 6 trib size (9") smallies on wacky creek worms and river darters...

With one larger bass around 14 inches...

Time to put the waders away for the summer and start using my "leaky" boat. See you on the "river."
