Title: Trib of a Trib
Post by: dretallack on August 06, 2018, 08:28:04 PM
With all the rain as we have been all referencing to over the last couple of weeks. This weekend came and from Friday to Saturday, the river jumped 4'. A buddy decided to take a break and stay home from his saltwater antics also. So we hooked up to try some of the local waters. The spillway was flowing like mad from at the lake we tried, so no luck there. We were close to one of the major tribs of the river, but that was to high also. I remembered there was a trib to that trib, I used to fish as a kid. So off we went and found a parking spot. Within the first 5 minutes, he had a 12-13" largemouth. Over the next hour and a half, we each had 3 fish a piece. Total 1 largemouth and 5 smallmouths. All on gulp minnows or leeches. Water was higher than normal for that creek, flowing into that hole, but was actually pretty clear. We also had a couple of misses, but all in all a good evening standing on a bridge.
