Are the spinning rods laying on the deck Fenwick Elite Tec or Fenwick River Runner Rods?  If so how do you like them and do you think they are worth the price tag?  I was planning on buying one in L or ML for winter smallmouth fishing. Fenwick also has some nice HMX and HMG rods for half the price.  I just can't decide which model to pull the trigger on.

I was able to identify the one with the split grip laying on the deck. It is a hmx, they are an incredible smallmouth rod. I have a 6'6" light. I absolutely love that rod. I fish in some heavy current on the Susquehanna and never have felt conserned. I have it paired with a shimanno Sedona 2500. Just play the fish. Would buy that rod again if something ever happened to it.

YEP I HAVE 3 HMX RODS. I LIKE THEM 7 FT AND EXTRLIGHT. TIP IS SENSITIVE AND HAS A GOOD BACKBONE CAST GREAT. THE OTHER IS AN ELITE TECH WALLEYE ROD. ITS AWESOME...YOU CAN FEEL AN EYE SUCK IN YOUR JIG WITH IT. ONLY THING WITH THE HMX RODS...GUIDES DONT GET ALONG WITH BRAID. MY TIP HAS SOME GROVES IN IT.

Thanks for the warning on the HMX rods.  I'm a braid user so I guess the Elite Tech will be the way to go.
