First Time at city Island
« on: July 11, 2017, 09:15:28 AM »
Harry and I put the boat in at City Island yesterday and ran up to the ledge above 81.  Harry caught three small ones in about 15 minutes on a white spinnerbait while I threw the crank bait that worked so well at Bloomsburg.  About that time the money pit had a new problem with low batteries so we drifted and dropped the anchor when we connected.  I caught 15 and Harry had about 25.  They were mostly in the 8 to 14 inch range but we did catch some nice ones.  We took pictures of the four best ones but for some unknown reason they were not stored in the camera.  I caught the biggest one at 2.66 lbs.  Most were caught on some kind of whacky craw colored rubber minnow that Harry just bought, dragging the bottom.

Once again I blame the lopsided score on two things.  I spent a lot of time dropping and pulling the anchor and he's a better fisherman.
The older I get, the better I used to be.

Twas a nice day with an upriver wind where I was. Sounds like fun.

Match the hatch...most of the time you're gonna catch something with minnow and crayfish imitations on the Susquehanna.

Anchoring and fishing slow is sometimes the trick also.
