Nicely done once again. Evening was pretty sweet also. Snuck out for 2 hours myself. Caught about a 1/2 dozen samllies. Then right before dark I had a thud hit the line. Acted different than a smallmouth, and it was different. Ended up being a 24" walleye. slipped on the way out of the river also, trashed my hmx spinning rod. Just above the reel seat. Now we will see if Fenwick lives up to their statement. That they will give us a sweet deal, if we accidently break our rods.

This river fishing is hard on equipment.  Seems like I can't ever go home with everything intact but it's going home in one piece and breathing that's important.  Hope you didn't get hurt.

If anyone wonders why I'm at my computer posting at this hour, I just got home from a long night at Williams Grove.  The 358's were really racing hard and they had a wreck fest.  I need a couple of Jim Beams and Susky fishing to unwind.

I had my best luck on 3" gulp minnows, in smelt and watermelon pearl. I only casted the 4" watermelon pearl, a hand full of times. That's what the eye was caught on. I was working the current seams, and the seemed to be schooled up right below the lower ridge pretty good. Just jigged it up. Had a bite on almost every cast, except for when I snagged a piece of grass. Fortunately I was able to walk out with no help. But I have a softball sized knot in my outer thigh now. I believe some water therapy will help it tonight.

The white pearl Friday evening I had very few bites on. The big eye I caught was on a 4" gulp in watermelon pearl. Planning on doing some fishing this evening, will let you know if they work again. But they have been my go to at this time of year, for several years now. The clippers work as well also, sometimes switch just for grins and giggles. just to catch them on something different. Now I am fishing primarly in current constantly. I intentionally look for faster current, who knows that may have something to do with it also. On another note, have you ever looked at your fishing spots on google earth? if you use the timeline button, you can usually find a favorable river height to see the structure in that area. Current seams, holes... It has been extremely helpful, for me
