Merry Christmas
« on: December 24, 2016, 03:36:08 PM »
Twas' the night before Christmas....
and I tried real hard (all this week) to get a smallmouth. But water temps of 34F and river access were a big problem.

River levels had risen 4-5 feet but there was still plenty of shore and floating ice.

Quite a few boats dodging the ice... they were duck hunters.

The only thing Santa got to show you was

These bruisers hang in all the quiet water this time of year. Most of the time they are snagged but every once in a while one takes a jig. Landed 3 carp today and this one ate a hair jig.

I'm hoping for a warm spell to wake up the smallies.

Time to set out the cookies and coffee for Santa Claus. Merry Christmas again and a Happy New Year to all!!

Bill
