It looks like they do not offer everything he had!

They do not.

Al is a workaholic...and spent a great part of his life creating smallmouth baits that work (especially in cold water) and enjoyed interacting with his customers on a one to one basis. He did most of it by himself and he personally tested every new bait...he is first of all a smallmouth fisherman for sure.

That kind of a person and that kind of service is very unusual today. But as Al has many times observed...it is tough competing with Berkeley and Zoom.

I do not expect the variety of lures or anticipate the same personal service from the people that bought his company.

I probably shouldn’t put words in Phil’s mouth but I think that he is wondering if there are molds available.

I am curious as to where is this mold?

Al Winco told me he had not been making these any longer.

I have never seen those on his website in the years I have purchased items from his shop.
Only thing I could suggest is getting in touch with Al Winco.

Thanks. I will try and do that. Probably the first time I got these was around 2007.

Sorry Phil...I talked with Al Winco

Neither the mold nor the trailers are available.

He suggested you try the Baby Predator Craw as a trailer instead. They are available from Fitt Lures.

Hi Bill, thanks, I will check it out. I might see if I can make these. I never poured plastic, but I think I saw where someone made a plastic from an original. Its amazing what I find laying around!!

I've used some of those Hare's Delight jigs...that cross cut rabbit fur looks amazing in the water...

They are too expensive for me to use from shore...I lose too many jigs in a day of fishing. I stick to the cheaper stuff...it all works.

Hey Bill, I know you like that Cabin Creek tube in smoke purple.  Have you ever tried a Willee in purple smoke?

Don’t think it’s made in smoke.
Green pumpkin/watermelon work well.
Smoke is a deceptive term
I think it is the “clear” appearance that makes the cabin creek so successful
Other smokes are very opaque...almost white

It may be a new color.  Check the drop down box for colors. It’s there.

Winco tried making a “smoke” tube some years ago
Never worked for me as well as Cabin Creek
His smoke tube body was opaque...more of a cream color
Look closely at the body of the smoke purple Cabin Creek...
It is clear like glass/water
I think that is the secret to their success
They also have a unique “grape-like” flavor/scent

Thanks for the info. I was putting together an order and noticed that color.  Since it works for you in the tubes I thought I would ask.
