Stress Relief
« on: November 11, 2018, 08:32:29 PM »
I got out for a nice late break Sunday afternoon. Had to rope myself into position. Once there I had about a 6 inch wide margin of muddy rocks to negotiate offering me 15 feet of less of shoreline but it was prime real estate! i got 5 eyes and 2 smallies. The big girl was 26" the two on my stringer were 18.5 each and the others were legalish. I had enough for a meal and didn't keep them. Smallies were in the 14 inch range.

Nice walleyes! Glad ya got out. You're right about the timing, with how bad of a year we've had with high water, the window to find marginally fishable water levels is tough. Timing is everything. I feel like I've said it a dozen times already but I looked at the gauge just now and with the heavy rain coming tonight, the WB gauge is projected to shoot up again to unfishable levels for the next few days. Again!  >:(

Glad you got out though, catching walleye is always a special treat up our way. Not to sound like a pessimist, but I'm so fed up with the high water that I've begun getting my ice gear squared away and ready to go, in hopeful anticipation of an early winter! Although late November and early December on the river can have phenomenal fishing, no doubt. Just need the weather to cooperate for once

Nice catch Dave. Looks like the river will be gradually coming down over the next few days, not as much rain as was expected last night and today.

Finally got to fill my buck tag last week so I could back to fishing if only mother nature would cooperate. I got out last night before the storm and had fun with the walleyes, caught 8 with the biggest being 26", smallest 17". All but one eater returned to catch another day.
