North Branch Conditions

The Wilkes-Barre gage is just below 2'.....the first time in a long time.  How is the clarity?  Any reports for smallies?  Worth a shot?

Afish the north branch around Bloomsburg is looking fairly good still slightly stained. I caught several on a white popper Friday night targeting risers. There was a good sulphur hatch coming off starting around 7

The North Branch near Wilkes Barre and Harding hasn't really turned on yet. I was in Harding yesterday morning there were Caddis coming off and managed two smallies one on clouser and one on a deer hair popper.  Didn't see any fish rise. I went back out in the plains area in the evening there were some bugs coming off and only saw two fish rise all night. Caught one on a deer hair popper. Catfishing hasn't even been great. Hopefully water levels stay consistent into August there might be a chance at decent fishing.  I wade so it might be different if you have a boat. I'm sure the high water levels has had an impact on the spawn the past two years.

Thanks for the report.  I fished the lower river twice (wading) and have not really had any success either. I agree, we need some lower stable water levels and clearer water to see what up (or down) with the Susky SMBs.

Saw the first trace of white flies Monday evening just down from the Apple Tree launch in Harding.
