Oh!! Yeah!!
« on: November 08, 2019, 03:46:46 PM »
My second time on the Susquehanna this season was AOK!!
Started wading about 1 PM and quit shortly after 3 PM.
Air 40F... NW wind pretty breezy...Water 49F...falling fast (need some rain  ;D)...color perfect.
The smallmouth liked it too.
Picked twelve bass up between 1.5 and 3 lbs on ....
Willie Wannabee

and the Undulator

I think there is some hope for this winter  :)  :)

Who needs a boat when you are catching fish like that from shore! Good pics. All my pics always look the same.

There you go!! Letting them drift? Did they tap it pretty good or mush bite?

I've become pretty handy with the "Parkinsonian wrist shake"... ;D ...the silicone strands on the Wannabee and that limp tail on the Undulator "shake" real nice as the jig drifts and you shake it...

The water temp has dropped 10-12 degrees over the past week but it is not cold enough for the mush-mouth bite yet...all the takes were definitely noticeable...the bass were pretty peppy were even jumping... :)

Yeah...there are only so many ways to take a picture of a fish.

I like the "Mr. Wilson" pose (from the Home Improvement Show).

I like to take some pics holding the fish different ways in my hand...and I try to get a picture of the bass jumping when I get a jumper.

I like to throw in some other nature pictures of geese, ducks, mink and any other creatures I see.

I like snow scenes too and winter fishing gives the chance for a lot of those.

Most of all I like pretty gloves.  ;)  :)

Hope you do not mind me asking. How do you take a photo when both hands are on the fish? Looks great.

HAHA  ;D  I'm starting to have some of these from time to time. Under the right circumstances it appears they are a blessing!

Thanks again for sharing!

;)Great Bill.  That's more than I caught all summer from my boat.
The older I get, the better I used to be.

I posted this (see link below) a few years ago explaining how I wade and take pictures. Read over it. If you have any questions I'd be glad to discuss them.

Most of my wading now is done during winter during high water events. When the power plant was putting out hot water any time during the winter was good for smallmouth. Now there is no hot water and the best times are during high water when the fish stack closer to shore to get out of current and find food.

I never use chest waders anymore... too dangerous. Hip boots and waist high waders made of neoprene or breathable fabric (with wool pants underneath) are all that is needed.  I seldom get in water deeper than my crotch (ooohhhh that's cold  :o)
