Where's the sun?
« on: February 13, 2020, 03:04:11 PM »
Been watching the water temp very closely. February has not been its normally cold self but there just has not been enough sun and warmth to get the water temp above 37F
I thought it might get up to 38F today but just didn't make it.
Had brunch with a friend and then we hit the river in a slow drizzle, overcast, dark and cloudy. Water temp 36.5 F. Water depth was great and there were some nice eddies.
My friend is a hair jig guy. He caught nothing.
I picked up three smallmouth on the Willie Wannabe with this dandy girl weighing in at 3 lbs 8 oz (my biggest so far this winter).

Colder weather the next couple of days....oh well!!

Nice catch! I saw the water was falling last week. After your post I see it has come up some.

Water levels are great for my kind of fishing...what I need is slightly warmer water.

You never cease to impress.  I can handle sitting in a tree stand in January but fishing in February, not so much.  My hand arthritis  prefers sitting in the boat at 80 degrees. ;D   What kind of toothy critter bit the finger off your glove? ::)
The older I get, the better I used to be.

Those dollar store gloves don’t last very long but they’re cheap, colorful and they keep keep your hands warm.
They’re cheap enough to buy a few pairs and change them frequently.
