If nobody is posting any pictures of smallmouth...guess I'm gonna have to!!  :)

It has been slow...what with the high muddy water and the fluctuating water temps...then again the smallmouth move away from shore and head into other areas of the river as spring approaches...gets tougher and tougher to catch them from shore or wading the shoreline.

Caught a few at one of my local tributaries this morning...

including this 3 and 1/4 pounder...she was either eating well or getting ready for the spawn

Avoid crowds...Wear a mask when shopping...Wash your hands often (20 sec with soap and warm water)...Use hand sanitizer if you have it ( a piece of cloth in a sandwich bag with rubbing alcohol should work)...

Stay safe and go fishing!!

No pics. Went out yesterday with the bass boat just above Peach Bottom, got skunked. Waiting on water pump kit for the jet - stuck in new york per tracking.

Avoid crowds...

That would mean the PFBC ramps at Goldsboro.  I went out yesterday and launched at first light.  I was the only truck in the lot.

Over the course of the morning I saw many boats, and finding an unoccupied spot was becoming difficult.  I had been fearful that with so many out of work it would be a zoo and it was turning out that way.

Since the courtesy docks are not in yet I wanted to get out before it got too bad so I headed for the ramp at 11:30 with two bass to show for my efforts.  I had planned on staying later for warmer water but didn't want to risk it.

That turned out to be a good move.  I counted 35 trailers between the two lots and that was before noon!  The only thing that made it better than a busy Saturday afternoon in the middle of the summer is that there were no jet skis or wakeboats.

I may be done until this virus stuff is over.

I've also been social distancing and working from my home office in my boat. Some bass have been starting the move to their spawning areas, thinking of switching to catfishing until walleye come back in season!

Nice size bass...do you weigh them?

The bottom one looks like a drum with the black (melanoma) spot on the tail. What section of the river were you fishing?

Some nice fish! Thanks for sharing!
Haven't been able to get out on the river with my boat.

Thought I would head out to local lake. Waiting lines to launch boats. Been awhile since I have seen the lake that busy.
Last night we had snow flurries, today we are supposed to have high winds.
Hasn't quite been the spring I envisioned.

Dry I'm impressed with your catches! You keep reeling them in 👍

Which lake did you try?  The ramps on the river are busy too.
