Thankful for tribs
« on: April 08, 2020, 12:48:32 PM »
Had to social distance myself from my wife this AM...so I fished for a little over one hour along the Susquehanna on the Que where pre-spawn and spawning activity was fantastic 20 years ago...
Water temp 50F...didn't  get a hit on tubes, Lockett minnows or SJB

Moved to a local trib and immediately picked up 4 smallmouth in over an hour... including this 2 and 3/4 pounder with a big gut...

I've spoken to several experienced anglers who believe that it is the small tribs in the upper mainstem that support the smallmouth spawn rather than the main part of the river.

The hours spent fishing are not subtracted from the lives of men!!
