I don't think I have ever been at Dorsey this time of year.  Any idea if the water level is affected much down there, meaning is the whole pool affected or just the area near Muddy Run?
I believe it is the same effect; however: I do not think you notice it as much (except for at the launch site). I have always known the Lower Conowingo fluctuates dramatically, I just never realized how much. One conclusion I will make is, when it gets colder I know there will be less flow at Muddy Creek in the AM. For quite a few years I have always fished Muddy Creek in the evening (if doing well why go in the morning?). Been a tough year. A few of my spots are not producing. Oddly enough in the spring I had always fished the Lower Conowingo in the AM.

We didn't  gain much from the storm this week. Got about 0.70" of rain and the river is holding steady up here.
River gauge is at 0.4' with is about the lowest I can remember it.
Got out yesterday for a bit yesterday but the wind was a problem. Again just a couple small ones...no size.

Safe Harbor reports rain from 7PM to 7 AM. Wed morning 1/2"  and this morning 2.28" Looks like no big impact to the river looking at the gauges. Conowingo did not even hiccup!

I have not been down for 2 days. Though based on flow stats I would not expect it to be bad. I usually expect debris when I see there has been a lot of rain up north. If it ain't chocolate colored I'll fish it. I will see tomorrow AM.

Road to Muddy Creek was closed. So I ran down to Peach Bottom. River looks clear to me. For what ever reason it looks like Conowingo Dam did not operate much yesterday.

Another 1.89 inches of precipitation reported at Safe Harbor in the past 24 hours, but not much of a rise predicted at HBG.

I have never been able to find info on when it operates either, but I think it is safe to assume they are doing it every day right now with as hot as it has been.
Went out a little early yesterday. Hotline for Conowingo stated 5 small units at 1500-2000 (only 1 up to 3 PM). So I got to the point across from the launch at Muddy Creek Launch at 3 PM and there was significant flow for Muddy Run power plant. I have concluded there is no way to know when Muddy Run discharges. I wanted to see if activity increased with the flow. Guess I will have to get outside of influence from Muddy Run.

I caught about 15 fish. Except for 3 the rest were dinks. After 8PM flow subsided as I expected. Typical turn on at sundown.

Your still catching some nice fish Phil.

I was running some skinny water yesterday 1-2' for a few hours and not even a hit. Guy with me caught 2 dinks.
When you can't even get a single hit on a top water you know it's not going to be a great day.
This week the fish have liked a black Senko rigged wacky.
In the process of juggling boats...with the prices they are bringing sold my prop boat. Not sure what direction I'm going to go.
"maybe a bigger jet"

Thanks. Been tough. Managed a few nice fish Friday night after dark on chatter bait. Before dark a few dinks. Going out tonight. No pics. Pretty bad pic with flash after dark. A lot of bugs, hopefully fewer bugs tonight since it is cooler!

Well we have the 4th lowest water level on record. 0.39. The lowest on record at Williamsport is 0.69.
Below the dam launch we are starting to run out of ramp. 2' drop at the end of the concrete ramp. It is messing up boat trailers trying to get up over that 2' drop.
Hope that we pick up some rain off of these tropical depressions.

Edit: Phil I just picked up a chatter bait haven't fished them before.

I do not use them much. Sundown and after dark, or stained water.

Getting lower all the time. Went up to Holtwood this AM, since the flow is low.

Going to have order some more chatterbaits!
Had a good day but no size. Seemed like I had to use many different lures. Though I did get 5-6 on jerkbaits

At ramp one bassboat trailer ran off ramp at the end (so low). Guy had a heck of a time loading his boat. I asked him why he did not launch elsewhere, and he said they have a tournament this weekend.

Some nice fish Phil!
It was really windy here today, wind averaged 11 mph with some 32 mph gusts.
I have a chatter bait tied on one of my rods but haven't even given it a cast. Next time out will have to remedy that, if I can find any weeds. ;D

My local tackle shop is out of a lot of stuff and he has been having trouble getting orders in.

Ned and whacky rigged Senko's seem to be getting it done as of late. "talking to other anglers"
Top water has been hit and miss. Either they will hit it...or won't even touch it.
