I was poking around the NOAA site and found this for the HBG gauge:Low Water Records(1) 1.83 ft on 09/13/1964(2) 2.46 ft on 09/25/1963(3) 2.48 ft on 11/29/1930(4) 2.59 ft on 09/28/1959(5) 2.67 ft on 11/06/1964I can't imagine the river at 1.83!
The reading at HBG is still only 3.1. I drove up to Amity Hall today. I saw one boat there but none from there down to just above Forster Street. Nobody parked at Fort Hunter. Three boats were in that area. I assume that they had launched at City Island as there were a few trailers in that lot. No wonder the deeper pools have been busier than normal.
Now here is a skinny water boat for you.The trick is to make sure it is in the water.
Did you see this happen? Looks like the strap is still attached. Released the winch too early? Fortunately I have to fight to get my boats off their trailers.
0.33 inches at Safe Harbor yesterday. I am surprised they had their site updated this early.
Not sure yet how much the river is going up - they have already revised that estimate down. They should have a better idea tomorrow.
