Fall Fishing
« on: September 18, 2020, 05:06:13 PM »
Fall is here and the water temp is starting to drop.
Was out the other day with my youngest son. Was pretty foggy and a cold ride.
Caught a few nice ones and also a bunch of dinks.

I would also like to thank Phil for getting me straight on posting pictures with Linux.

Few more pics of the river.
For a few mornings it was 42 degrees and foggy.
Bottom picture in the afternoon.

I really have mixed emotions about fog.  It certainly makes it more dangerous.  I was out once when you couldn’t see more than 5’.  Guys were in danger of hitting another boat when on the TM.

On the other hand it does seem to turn on the topwater bite.

TM.
TM? Don't know that abbreviation
I would say the other day in the fog I was going 3 miles an hour!

Not much boat traffic during the week especially with the colder temps. Some mornings I'm the only boat there that early.
If the fog is heavy I just take my time.

From talking to other people the big fish are starting to show up.
37 degrees this morning.

Me too. I might wait 3/4 hour after sunrise to let a little fog burn off!

34 degrees this morning...frost 3 days in a row.
Water temp has dropped to 61 degrees. Fish not really biting just some dinks.
But what a beautiful day to be on the water.

Launched at River Front Park this AM. Just under 60 degrees. No bass just this:

Then I went and launched at Chickees. 4-5 bass, 1 was 12" fish were aggressive. End water temp 65 degrees

Ha  :D I bet that thing put up a pretty good fight.
At least you found some aggressive fish.

I really want to fish below the dam where the bigger fish are, but the water is skinny.
To load my boat by myself I pretty have to get in the water.

I carry knee high mucks for that! Also had to use the push pole a few times lately.
