50's

Don't normally fish Saturdays but the water temp reached 50F and I couldn't resist it. The water level has also risen about a foot.

Picked up a nice 3.5 pounder fishing the trib with a chillee willee

Then went to the Que and only picked up 2 other smallmouth on the Lockett minnow.

Don't think they liked the rise in water levels. I think we need some stable water conditions where I fish to get them feeding.

Wild shoreline daffodils must have been planted by flood waters

Stay on them! I will be heading to Raystown soon! Do you wear corkers when you are wading?

During the Winter and Spring high water I use hip boots. I use a Yax Trax strapped to each boot mainly to help prevent slips in shoreline mud.

When the water goes down I switch to breathable waist high waders with neoprene boots and carbide studded wading shoes.

A buddy of mine asked me what you use. He just looks at the posts. He turned me on to the site. I thought I remembered you use those, because I use those for ice. Before I retired PPL sites required those when the asphalt was icy. BTW he calls this forum "Dry's site"  ;D
Thanks
Phil

Sorry about that...I hope I don't turn people "off"...would enjoy more people joining in on conversations and posting their pictures...

This old man just loves to catch fish and post pictures  ;D  ...even if it's only a couple of fish.

Dry
Hope you keep on posting...I enjoy your posts and you taking the time to answer questions.

I got my big boat out for the first time Saturday. Water temperature was 51 degrees.

The river was up to around 7'. Just made for some decent current.
About a mile from the launch we hit where a tributary empties into the river. "But done nothing"
Then we found some bass and started to consistently catching them.
Big bass probably about 3lb. Majority of the fish about 1.49 with some a little more.

I will get some pictures up in the next couple of days.

Thursday a high of 37  :-\

Phil good luck at Raystown.
