Deer hair dye on sale

(1/1)

Phil Sweeney:
2 for $6. And my two favorite colors! Total investment in hair, tail and dye this year $6

Pawatch:
I never thought about you dying your own deer hair. It sounds like quite the process.
My youngest son ties, but I'm not sure who his supplier is.

Itís actually pretty easy. Unlike the instructions for human hair, put the bucktail in a bucket and mix in the dye with the gloves and let it sit for at least 24 hours. After 24 hours just rinse and dry, and or use the conditioner first. If you want lighter colors youíll have to bleach the hair first. Oddly enough after the hair is dyed in storage the bugs wonít get it.

If youíve ever stored bucktail youíre find sooner or later the bugs will get in there especially if you donít skin the hair off the tail.

I also have a bunch of bucktail in a big pretzel jar, a hunting buddy gave me, and he put a couple mothballs in there and that keeps the bugs out also.
